About
My name is Mark Voce and I’m a fine art photographer based in West Yorkshire in the North of England. I focus on landscape, architecture and night photography and specialise in printing with alternative (non-silver) printing processes for a good proportion of my work.
I have had work published in various magazines both in the UK and across Europe; I have sold prints across the world and have won accolades in international competitions. I also lecture on landscape and night photography to photographic societies and camera clubs here in the north of England.
Why alternative (non-silver) printing processes
I first tried my hand at platinum / palladium printing last year and have been hooked ever since, the whole process captivated me and gave me a much greater sense of satisfaction than just clicking print and watching a print roll off a inkjet printer. I feel there is so much more to a handmade print such as a platinum / palladium, salt print or cyanotype (to name just a few), each print is slightly different to the last and no two prints will ever be identical. Alternative processes are not quick they take time to learn and even longer to hone your skills but I in my humble opinion in this ever faster digital age it is nice to take a step back and create something special. I wish you the best of success on your journey.
Why Non-Silver.com?
This site is dedicated to help and inspire other photographers who are interested in learning more about these wonderful historic printing processes. My aim is to share the lessons I have learnt along the way along with tips, advice, equipment, anything else I think you will find relevant and of course my latest prints made using non-silver processes.
